The U.S. Travel Association, the American Hotel and Lodging Association, Airlines for America and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce appealed to the White House to get rid of the masks.
On Friday, the CDC released new guidelines for life during Covid that included relaxed mask mandates that most states have been ignoring anyway.
Several travel associations are now appealing to the White House to give the travel industry a break. Specifically, they want the CDC to repeal pre-departure testing requirements for vaccinated inbound air travelers and lift the mask mandate for public transportation, among other policies.
In a letter to White House coronavirus response coordinator Jeffrey Zients, the groups also asked the administration to end "avoid travel" advisories. They also asked the government to work with other countries to normalize travel conditions and entry requirements.
They would also be thankful if the bureaucrats would tell the world that it is safe to travel.
