NCL Holdings Does the Right Thing and Dumps Russia.

Guests were informed by email of the decision to not visit Putinville this year.

Various sources report that Norwegian Cruise Holdings operating the Norwegian Cruise Line and Oceania and Regent Seven Seas cruise line are joining Atlas Ocea Voyages to be among the first to cancel all calls to Russia in 2022.

Cruise Hive reports that guests and travel partners were notified by email that, “The health, safety, and security of our guests, crew, and communities we visit is our top priority. Due to the escalated situation between Russia and Ukraine, we have decided to alter itineraries and remove calls to St. Petersburg, Russia, from our sailings for the remainder of the year.” The message continued to say that substitute ports had not been scheduled but would be soon.

During an earnings call on Thursday, Mark Kempa, executive vice president and chief financial officer of NCL Holdings, said that canceling visits to St. Petersburg would affect fifty itineraries.
