Carnival Officially Names New Ship Mardi Gras This Saturday in Port Canaveral

Included in the festivities will be Carnival's Chief Fun Officer Shaquille O'Neill.

Carnival Cruise Line has announced that their newest ship Mardi Gras will be officially named on board the ship on Saturday, October 23rd.

Among the invited guests to attend the ceremonies will be Carnival Corporation CEO Arnold Donald, Carnival Cruise Line President Christine Duffy, and Carnival Chief Fun Officer Shaquille O'Neill.


The new LNG-powered Mardi Gras was the first ship to resume operations from Port Canaveral this summer and is the first ship to feature an onboard roller coaster.

Mardi Gras is currently sailing seven-day cruises to the Eastern and Western Caribbean from Port Canaveral's new Cruise Terminal 3, built specifically for this vessel.
