Travel Weekly reports that as many as 80 guests will switch to Seven Seas Mariner.
As a result of the suspension of business at Crystal Cruise, guests currently sailing on the World Cruise will be leaving the ship when it arrives in Aruba on January 30. The Regent Seven Seas Mariner, also currently on a world cruise, will be arriving in Aruba the following day.
Steve Shulem, a travel advisor currently on the Serenity, told Travel Weekly that more than 80 people had decided to move to the Regent ship. He added that the Serenity had not visited many ports of call on its current cruise. Shulem said, "They have canceled most ports on this cruise because the captain told us they have no money for port charges."
A spokesperson for Regent Seven Seas Cruise Line said that "Regent Seven Seas Cruises is working in partnership with the trade to support any guests who wish to continue their vacation by joining Seven Seas Mariner." For guests who choose to join the Mariner, Regent will be providing a complimentary night at the Ritz-Carlton Aruba.
