Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Going North to Alaska
Three ships in total will sail from Seattle.
Royal Caribbean Cruise Line announced this past Friday that they would join Carnival, Princess, and Holland America and begin sailing two of their ships in Alaska in July and August. The Serenade of the Seas will start sailing on July 19, and the Ovation of the Seas will begin on August 13.
Sister company Celebrity Cruise also announced that
the Celebrity Summit would begin sailing to Alaska from Seattle on July 23. Royal Caribbean and Celebrity will require that all guests be vaccinated. In a statement Royal Caribbean CEO said, "Any traveler who visits Alaska immediately understands how special it is, given its natural beauty, the welcoming locals, and the culture carefully preserved over centuries. The past year has been a challenging time for us all, and the Alaskan communities heavily reliant on cruise tourism have felt it deeply. We are confident this is just the first part of our return to cruising from the U.S."
