COVID 19 HALTS THE ODYSSEY
Two workers assigned to the Odyssey of the Seas have tested positive for the Coronavirus.
As reported last week Royal Caribbean’s new Odyssey of the Seas was slated to head to the North Sea for her sea trials.
Now, several German newspapers are reporting that two workers have tested positive for Coronavirus and the ship will remain docked in Bremerhaven, Germany with approximately 500 workers and crew staying onboard. According to reports, both workers have been placed in quarantine. It is unclear at this time if the workers were hired by the shipyard or employed by Royal Caribbean.
It has been announced that the Odyssey will begin sailing from Haifa, Israel beginning May 1 with the first fully vaccinated ship, all guests and crew must be vaccinated against Covid-19.
No word has been given on whether this will delay the timeline for the anticipated launch.
